HitTilt+ Data & Early Season Targets

We’re going to go over several plots and identify early-season targets. At the end of the write-ups, I’ll post the early season HitTilt+ Leaderboard (Top 238).

Let’s get started:

This plot is comparing wRC+ and Total Bases/Plate Appearance. There’s an obvious correlation in the early going but taking a look at the upper right, we see a few standouts. Let’s see if they fit into my other criteria which is SwStr% compared to Total Bases/Plate Appearance:

I have a datasheet to represent some of the missing names on the plot. Because it gets all jumbled if I were to include every name, I only include several names on the plot. The datasheet is something we can look at and identify some early standouts who have SwStr%s lower than 12% and a TB/PA > .5000. Only 45 players qualified within those thresholds who have a minimum of 25 Plate Appearances and are also Aged 26 & younger. Let’s take a look at who they are:
